Anthony Tollin worked registration at the first Minnesota
science fiction convention in 1968 and was a guest at the first local comic
book con in 1973, the first Minneapolis fan to join the New York comics
professionals. After starting as an assistant editor at Warren (on Vampirella,Eerie, and Famous Monsters of Filmland) and a production artist
on Marvel's b&w horror magazines, he in 1974 began 21 years at DC, first as
head proofreader, later as assistant production manager/color coordinator,
working with such comic legends as Julius Schwartz, Jack Adler, Sol Harrison,
and Joe Kubert. Tollin left staff in 1981 to focus on freelance work as cover
colorist and regular interior colorist of many DC top titles highlighted by a
15-year run on Green Lantern, plus Superman, Justice League,The Shadow Strikes, The Phantom, and Crisis on Infinite Earths(and decade-plus runs on the Batman and New Teen Titans lines
which he co-colored in partnership with Adrienne Roy). Tollin also colored Mickey
Mouse and Donald Duck, and a variety of comics features for National
Lampoon, Marvel, and Topps. As a broadcasting historian, Tollin authored
more than 70 historical booklets on old-time radio for Radio Spirits and the
Smithsonian Institution Press (including collaborations with Ray Bradbury and
Walter Cronkite), scripted the nationally syndicated When Radio Was (hosted
by Stan Freberg) and produced and directed cast reunions of such radio series
as The Shadow, Superman, The Lone Ranger, Suspense,The Whistler, X-Minus One, The Mysterious Traveler, and The
Mercury Theatre on the Air. He also worked as Historical Consultant
on the Sci Fi Channel documentary ÒMartian Mania: the True Story of the War of
the WorldsÓ (hosted by James Cameron). Tollin co-authored The Shadow
Scrapbook with creator Walter Gibson, and has published more than 150
novels each of The Shadow and Doc Savage under his Sanctum Books
trade paperback imprint.
Programming Arcana features its usual broth of
panels, readings, and presentations on the dark fantastic, including an Anthony
Tollin interview, What are You Reading?, Ambrose Bierce, old Time Radio,
and GojiraÕs friends and foes. To volunteer and/or submit ideas, contact Eric

Dealers and Art Dealers pay the current
membership rate plus $30 for a table. Contact Brian K. Perry (see below).
Attending Artists may opt for the same membership rate as dealers, or may
display a la carte, at $1 per bid sheet (per piece). Walk-in art will be
accepted from a non-attending artist or agent at the rate of $2 per bid sheet.
No mail-in art is accepted. Art that receives two or more Silent Auction bids

Hotel The Best Western, 1010 Bandana Blvd W,
at Bandana Square, St Paul, a former train repair station with its tracks
running through the lobby, has a swimming pool, sauna, free internet computer,
and free wireless. A free Continental breakfast is served in the lobby for
hotel guests. Bandana Square next door has the Twin City Model Railroad Museum.
A restaurant, Gabes by the Park, is three blocks from the hotel. various
restaurants lie within 2-3 miles. The hotel's lounge, The Waiting Room, is open
4-9pm Monday-Saturday. In 2014 the hotel hosted the Western convention
Con-Sarnit June 6-7 and the speculative fiction convention Diversicon July
25-27. Arcana returns for the 23rdconsecutive year. Rates TBA: mention Arcana when reserving your room:

Hospitality The main stage room will provide light
refreshments, joined by Krushenko's after the evening Program concludes. Room
parties are welcome!
